Cliff's Story
I recently found my graduation picture from graduation night back in June of 78. I compared it to a recent picture my son had taken in May when he was here visiting. It got me to thinking, "What the hell happened?" lol
A lot has happened in the past 43 years that's for sure. I retired last year from working at the High School as a Behavioral Specialist. Too much Covid going around and really hard to help kids with behavioral issues by way of a computer. My National Guard retirement check started coming in last year, so I called it quits with working for a living. I never thought that things would work out that way. However, I am extremely glad that I spent all that extra time on active duty so that my check now is enough to live on. I miss the kids at the school and miss helping in some small way. used to work with. Seems they are doing much better now that they are out of school and working. It got me to wondering if school was that horrible back in the 70's when we went. lol I couldn't wait to graduate and get on with life. However, I never felt that going to school was such a terrible thing. Oh course, I rarely went to school my junior year. I was way too self-conscious about my acne. I am glad that I finally got over that and just did what I needed to do and graduated.
Many years have passed since then. I keep seeing the post about alumni that have passed on. Sad to see so many young people leaving before their prime. My heart goes out to their loved ones and their families. Hopefully there won't be any more and people will live to be the ripe ole age of 100 plus.
