Clifford's Story

Clifford is married. His schools include Mepham High School. After serving four (4) years in the Navy, he later attended Adelphi University. At Adelphi, he majored in accounting. More about Clifford:"Retired from Civil Service in 1994 and moved from No. Bellmore, NY to Boca Raton, FL. Since then, I have discovered family that I did not know that I had including a brother.". My brother and I bonded instantly. I also found that I have a sister but she did not want to meet me. Sad, but that was her choice & I respect it. Clifford just returned from Israel this week, 11/06/2013, after spending two weeks there. He traveled there with his wife and oldest daughter, also a Mepham graduate. This trip was made in order to attend the wedding of his wife's cousin's daughter. The cousin having emigrated there, from Glasgow, Scotland after retiring. This year, 2014, we went to the UK for three weeks, returning on Labor Day. Our first stop was Manchester, England to attend the wedding of another of my wife's cousin's daughter. This cousin is the brother of the cousin in Israel. The wedding was held in a 700 year old castle. We stayed there as well. From there we went on to Glasgow, Scotland to visit my wife's father's grave. After a few days in Scotland, visiting family we were off to Northern Ireland. There, in Belfast, where her father grew up, we visited her grandfather's grave and spent a few days touring. The people are fantastic. From Belfast we took a train south to the Irish Republic. The countryside is magnificent. The beauty of the land is beyond belief. We spent the next nine days touring the Republic. All in all, it was a wonderful holiday. For 2015, we are going to do something different. In the fall, we are going to cruise from Canada to Ft. Lauderdale. By doing that we will see to season change. Shirley and I truly miss seeing the leaves change color. This will be a year of seeing the most beautiful place on earth, the USA. Shirley and I will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with our family this June. I look forward to celebrating these 50 years because it has been a wonderful experience. Having a wonderful wife to share my life with makes it all worthwhile. I truly wish that we could have another 50 together in this life. Well, that is our update for 2014. Let us wish everybody a very Merry C...Expand for more
hristmas and a happy New Year The year 2015 has been very exciting. We started out by attending a wedding at the Oheka Castle in Huntington, NY on New Years Eve. Our friend's , of over forty years, granddaughter got married. A private jet was sent to fly us up to NY. We took off from Boca Raton Airport and landed at Republic Airport. From there, we were limo'd to the Castle. It was a magnificent wedding and we had a terrific time. After the wedding, we attended the New Years Eve bash there. WOW, now I know how royalty is treated. In June we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in New Jersey. It was attended by family and friends. It was just wonderful. Wish I could have such a bash every year. The new year, 2016, has started off slow. However, it looks to be an exciting one. I will be attending the graduation of one of my grand daughters at PITT. From there I will visit family in New Jersey, Long Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. We haven't planned any trips this year. However, I just look forward to continuing and enjoying my retirement. Well, 2017 has come and is almost gone. We traveled to Lewiston, NY to visit one of my wife's sister & her husband. From there we went on to Toronto, Canada to stay with two of our friends and visit her aunt. Toronto is beautiful, however, you think Long Island traffic is bad. Toronto puts it to shame. From there we went back to Lewiston, stayed a few more days and left for NJ to visit our daughter and her family. While there we went to Manhattan to stay with my sister for a couple of days. Then off we went to Massachussets to see my brother and his new wife. Back to NJ to spend more time with my family. After leaving NJ we stopped in Virginia to visit my step brother for an overnight. On to Ormond Beach, Florida to stay with my other sister for a couple of days, and then on to Boca. It was a long and WONDERFUL trlip. Now, as we approach Thanksgiving, to be spent with my son in the Fort Lauderdale area, along with another of my wife's sisters & brother in laws. The year is almost over. Have NO plans for Christmas but New Years Eve will be with many many of our friends & neighbors, at our clubhouse. It will be a big dinner bash with great music and good food. That way, there will be NO time spent on the road. That's it for 2017 and I look forward to 2018.
