Clint's Story

Life Well let's see... For those of you who might be interested, I will start from graduation and end with current events. I will try and keep this short. After graduation I attended school in Kansas and played a little football and baseball. That summer I returned home and attended TCJC and did not return to Kansas the following year for school. The next three semesters were spent at TCJC, work, and time with friends. April of 92 my life changed forever. May of 92, I left for the US Army basic training and airborne training at Fort Benning, GA. After completing training I was assigned to the 82d Airborne Division 4/325 Airborne Infantry Regiment Bravo Co. 1st platoon 2nd Squad. Greatest guys I have ever worked with. The most memorable event while in the 82d was the 6 months in Sinai, Egypt. If you ever get the chance to see the Giza Pyramids and the Cairo Museum I suggest you don't pass it up. It is breath taking! Also, I suggest walking to the top of Mt. Sinai and having a Coke with the monks and making the trip to Jerusalem to walk in the footsteps of Christ. Last but not least. There is a corner bar in Elot, Israel where the Red Sea ends and the planes landing on the runway pass directly overhead. I recommend you go and have a beer and hang out with friend and enjoy the view. May of 95, I volunteered to go to Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) School and nine months later I graduated. I asked to be stationed at the 47th Ordnance Company (EOD) at Fort Hood, TX. While there I was ...Expand for more
able to be apart of the 96 Presidential Elections supporting the Secrete Service with President Clinton. There were a few times I was in arms length of the President. In May of 97, I left with the 47th for a 6 months stint in Kuwait. The first month and half my team and I went to Saudi Arabia for Improvise Explosive Device (IED) support of US Forces stationed there. Later we returned to Kuwait for range support and cleanup. That was literally a blast. We even did some joint work with the Navy and the Air Force. May of 98, I was happily married and still going strong. December of 98, I departed the Army to become a civilian again and moved back to Fort Worth. In 99, I started working as a contract Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Tech and have worked all over the United States and International. (Iraq 03) I have become very nomadic after the Military. I have not lived in one location for more that three years. First Ft. Worth, TX, then St. Paul, MN, then back to Bedford, TX and now in the Washington DC area. While in St. Paul I finished my BA in Criminal Law but continue in the UXO career field. I have been doing this type of work for over 12 years. It has led me to where I am now working for the Army Corps of Engineers as an Environmental and Explosives Safety Specialist out of the Baltimore Regional District. Currently I have two dogs (Wrangler my Blue Heeler and Sadie my Aussie Blue Heeler mix) and a cat (Tommy the bruiser tomcat). No kids as of yet. That’s pretty much it in a nutshell.
