Clyde's Story
Maybe you remember me. Maybe you don't. I didn't do much to endear myself to many of you.
So this little web site asks me to tell you about me & what I've "done". Well, I'll give you a brief synopsis, without the embellishment you may have come to expect in this venue. Lol!!!
We graduated. The majority of you attended an institution of higher learning. I did not. I attempted to, but those damn classes kept getting in the way of MY program for the future. As a result, I was invited to seek enlightenment elsewhere.
I joined the work-force at eighteen, and visited some of you at school on the weekends for a year or two. I met a girl. We married in 1987. We had two wonderful children, for which I am truly grateful. I tried school again, but only managed to secure a handful of credits, and never returned. I've been employed with the same company since 1980, and I'm doing pretty well. Isn't that crazy!? Who would believe that today?
I was divorced in 2004 after 17 years of marriage. For those who know me, the next statement will probably come as no revelation! LOL...Expand for more
!:
My need for "fun" played a significant role in the demise of our relationship. I'm not diminishing the severity of the fact by making light of the situation; just calling a spade a spade. It's just the unvarnished reality.
I say this to you now - not to complain about it - but rather to indicate that since then (2003 actually) I've made dramatic changes in my life, which have led me on yet another of the many paths of life. Thank God for it! My life is great today, and I couldn't have done it a moment sooner because I simply was not ready. It takes what it takes for meaningful change to occur.
So that's my existence in a nutshell. I've been so damn smart all of my life that I've had a difficult time identifying the largest, most obvious detriments. Maybe some of you may understand what I'm saying.
If not, suffice it to say that life is good, and my gratitude is unceasing. I hope you are doing well, also.
Oh! One last thing. I'm now officially a "Gold" member of Classmates.com. So now I've got that going for me, as well!!
I hope to see you at the reunion.
