Clyde's Story
We live in Raleigh, where two of our three children also make their home. Our oldest is a Navy wife and a novelist. Her first published book, a sci-fi adventure for a teenaged audience, is due from her publisher in late October. Suzanne and I each have a financial advisory and strategies practice. After high school I got my degree in journalism from the University of Florida, added my Masters of Divinity degree and later went to work on my doctorate. Following college at UF I spent a few years in campus ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fdlloeship, mostly working with students st Tulane, LSU and Southern Mississippi. I was a"bee church developer" for establishing and shepherding a thriving congregation in the Atlanta suburbs. My other psdtorates were in Atlanta, central Florida and Raleigh. In 1999 Suzanne and I believed I was called to the Monday morning world, which br...Expand for more
ought entirely new challenges with quite satisfying outcomes and deep relationships. In 2005 our family began making our home, as well, with a new congregation that had begun with three Raleigh women gathering to pray in September 2003. Eleven years later we opened the doors to the first altogether newly constructed Christian church in downtown Raleigh in about 90 years, Holy Trinity Anglican. As for work, we have no plans to retire for a long time. Our employer regularly rewards us with world-class travel to places we never imagined visiting, even landing an invitation to a small gathering hosted by Fleetwood Mac's founder Mick Fleetwood in his small art gallery in Maui. I'm grateful to God for my years of growing up in Fort Walton Beach, my friendships forged at Choctaw, some which carried over to the University of Florida and a few that remain important to me to this day.
