Martin's Story
After high school I held a number of jobs and went to Glendale College. I worked in a print shop; and I worked at the old Savon's in Montrose while going to college at CSUN, where I majored in anthropology. I took various and strange jobs through graduate school as well (Ph.D. in anthropology from UCLA). I was a photographer for a studio that specialized in youth sports photography; I worked one summer in the lab area for Max Factor; and later, in a more professional capacity, I have worked in public policy research; and I spent over seven years...Expand for more
in psychiatric research (at the West LA VA Med Center, and at UCLA), to just name a few.
Now I teach anthropology at California State University, Northridge.
Along the way I got married back in 1979 and am happily married after 30 years. My wife, Michelle, is a children's author who has published five books and has 2 currently in press. I have two daughters, Sascha and Lana. Sascha graduated from UCLA and now attended graduate school at CSUN; Lana is an undergraduate at San Francisco State and plans on going to school for a year in England.
