Colleen's Story
My high school counselor (who shall remain nameless) told me that I would do better going to work vs. going to college. Being 15 and having not a clue about who I was or what I wanted in life, I did what he told me to do. I worked as a nurses aide from 1989-1999. I finally realized that college WAS for me and started nursing school at Elmhurst College in 1999. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing in 2003. Alas, I'm an ICU nurse and worked at Lutheran General from 2003-2008. As of June 2008 I'll be living in Seattle and working in an ICU on a travel nursing assignment.
I married in 2000 and divorced in 2006. No children, just dust bunnies! I'm dating really great guy named David and he'll be making the trek out to Seattle with me.
Life is better than ever and I'm looking forward to hearing what my high school classmates are up to nowadays.
