Colleen's Story
Life
I am living in Montgomery, Alabama with my husband, John, and two boys, Tim and Josh. We have been here 18 years. (We never thought we would last 4). We do love it here. Our lives are centered around family and church and we have alot to be thankful for.
John is working on base still and still enjoys the challenge. He is a MCSE systems analyst for DISA. We have been married 22 years this coming February. It seems like it has not been that long. We are best friends.
I was a teacher for 7 years at a private school, then took a year off to work as an office manager for a construction office owned by a friend. I came back to teaching this year as I missed the kids and my summer break :). I also missed my own boys as they go to the same school I teach at. Tim is now 20 and at AUM studying Data Storage Management and Josh is 17 - he will start AUM in the Fall as he graduated just last week! He is cur...Expand for more
rently ranked fourth in his class out of 19. They are really good boys. They both are avid musicians and play in both the Praise and Worship Band for school and also in our youth band at church.
I hope that each and everyone of you has been blessed beyond belief by God's grace.
Workplace
I am a 'technology coordinator' for a small private school. I fought for that title hard. I was considered a teacher but really I handle all computer problems and instruct students in the proper use of computers. I also help teachers out in their different projects as well as work on a lot of school related projects on my own.
I love the job. Now the kids don't always love me. I am considered the 'dress code monster at the end of the hall'. I expect the students to follow the rules so it does get sticky sometimes. But that is fine. These kids know I love them whether or not I am having to discipline them or not.
