Colleen's Story
Kids Together Inc. at kidstogether. org is a non-profit that I started. The mission is to promote inclusive communities where all people belong. My current employment is with Arcadia University as a project coordinator.
I am a leader in the disabilities rights movement, advocate for people with disabilities, testified at a full house congressional hearing in D.C., and enjoy speaking to parents and professionals. islators and department heads regarding education and social services. I am also involved with Assistive Technology (low and high tech items that assist people with disabilities to perform skills).
I graduated with a B.S. from Penn State and worked as a Tax Assessor for 5 years, and then a commercial/residential real estate appraiser. I married in 1987. My son was born in 1979. with a nureomuscular condition and I became involved in technology and education. He uses a communication device with synthesized speech, and he's a great kid. We also have a younger child that we foster adopted.
