Collie's Story

Life I've been a forensic pathologist since 1981, and retired as a Colonel from the Army in 1997. Currently I'm one of only six forensic pathologists in Louisiana, working out of Lafayette (the midpoint of Cajun Country). I just bought a 2005 Dodge RAM SRT-10 Viper, quad cab, this past weekend, so have been spending a lot of my free time playing with that. It has 500 horse power and gets 12.5 mpg on the highway. Married three times but 28 years to my current wife, Casey, who I met in Hawaii during the 12 years of my Army career that I spent there. She's part Hawaiian, and we have two boys Kalle 27, and Kelby 24, both living at home with Casey in San Antonio. Yes, I live in Louisiana, Casey lives in Texas and I think this is the best our marriage has ever been :). I have never been back to Ramey, but the pictures I've seen from people who have make me sad, so I probably never will, although it would be fun to go back and surf Officer's Beach. I used to come down to south Louisiana and SCUBA dive off of the oil rigs here when I was in medical school in Shreveport, so am planning to start that up again. The spearfishing is phenomenal. Of course the Cajun food is phenomenal too, which is the bane of my existence, being the one thing I least need to be enjoying. My Mom and Dad are still alive and living in Shreveport. ol My biggest crush was Mrs. Cordero, my Spanish teacher, and also Mrs. Roberts but I don't remember what the subject was that she taught. Actually, I had a crush on Miss Norgord and my typing teacher too, as well as the school secretary. A few years ago I made contact with Mrs. Cordero and we have been communicating ever since. She has actually become someone that I consider to be a wonderful friend. Despite the fact that there are so many things I wish I had not done, I wouldn't change anything as otherwise it would have turned out differently and I'm very happy with the way that things turned out. I have, however, apologized to a lot of people for the things that I did over the years. However, there are some real jerks that I won't ever apologize to and would actually relish the opportunity to lay into them all over again. I wish that I lived close to Officer's Beach so that I could surf there for the rest of my life. Those were some of the best waves in the world. I also would wish that I could have been around my friends from Ramey forever. I have thought many, many times about how much I miss them and the few that I have run into over the years it was as if we had never been apart. There are so many funny, happy, and crazy memories that I couldn't possibly pick a top one, and it would take forever to write them all.
