Deborah's Story

Life Well, let's see, moved around alot. Those of you who know or knew me know that that is no lie! I have been to all but 13 of the 50 United States. My longest stint any any one school was 1 1/2 years. Daingerfield High School would have been that one. I've been married once before. I have a beautiful daughter from that marriage. I have been with my husband, Steve, for almost 9 years but only married to him for going on 3. I have a wonderful daughter and son from his previous marriage. So, altogether we have 3 hisandhers kids living at home. They range in age from 11 to 14. Mine being the youngest. I as 25 when I had my daughter and thought I wasn't ready for kids (going through the divorce at this time did not help my outlook on things) but I am so glad I have them and love them so much to the point that I worry about being co-dependent. They are getting older now and really don't need mom anymore but, now, they are really getting fun. They come to me about their problems and I'm like, "Hey! Trust me, I know what you are going through! None of this is really going to matter in the long run, guys!" It's funny to see them think that their world is crashing down around them and showing them that I am not so stupid after all. You know what though, I cring everytime I hear my parents words come out of my own mouth!!! I've gotten older, fatter and wiser though. I am enjoying my life more now than I ever did as a kid. I am more powerful as a woman, I think, since I lived with my daught...Expand for more
er alone for 3 years and travelled across country with her twice when she was a baby. That is the most powerful thing I think a woman can do to prove to herself that she can do anything. Strike out alone with your kid for a couple of years (well, if you don't have a significant other!) and just wrap yourself into this little person with no one else to answer to and you will see that they become a stronger individual - so do you!!! I own my own business - taxi service, can you believe it!? Well, I do like to travel and find that I am more grounded than ever with this career. It's fun, I enjoy it and it pays the mortgage!!!! I have had a few other things that I have done: retro clothing store, advertising agency, printing broker, Mary Kay and Gift shop. Have I decided what I want to be when I grow up? I still would like to be a singer!!!! Ha!Ha! Anyway, Hope anyone who reads this finds it entertaining and will write to me because they feel sorry for me because I actually have time to fill this thing out!!! Ha!Ha! School I was so burned out on school by the time I got to High School!! I guess some of my funnier memories would have to be with my crazy gang at Daingerfield High School. The best teacher I ever had and whom I really thought "got me" would have to be Coach Davis from Canyon del Oro. He meant well and really wanted me to pass the class but I just wanted to work and make money! Thanks for trying, I still passed it through correspondence courses. Ryan, Wig Woman is still here!
