Hey Cooper Hawks, class of 1978.
I cant believe I graduated from Cooper Sr High 3o years ago. I'm grateful I even graduated.
You folks who knew me back in the day, probably saw me as quiet and reserved, to put it mildly. I'm not going to lie..Of coarse I would be characterized as a Freak not a Jock, I smoked some cannabis now and then (and a couple of other things). I've been a friend of Bill's for a good long time now. I wish I had been more of an extrovert, but I am what I am.
I've lived in a few different places in my life since school.
I have also moved back "home" to Minnesota a few times. I loved Minnesota, but I last left for good in 1995, I moved to Phoenix, AZ. I worked as a machinist in my brother's shop for a while. Then we started a sheetmetal business together with a couple of other partners. I had to get out a few years later. My bro and I weren't seeing eye to eye.
I met my wife in Phoenix. We lived at the same apartment complex. She is a Philly girl. She has sometimes referred to me as a country bumpkin, (when she gets mad). I told her not all Minnesotans are like the characters from "Fargo". We had our baby Courtney born in Mesa, AZ in May 2000.
We moved to Fort Myers, Fl in 2003. Her parents live on the east coast. We didn't wan...Expand for more
t to live near the Miami and Ft Lauderdale area. It's too crazy. We can just hop on the freeway and drive through the everglades, also known as alligator ally. The beaches are nice, there are nice touristy things to do, but the humidity can be Hellacious.
I have experienced a few Hurricanes down here. Hurricane Charlie came on a Friday the 13th, 2004 was our first one. Then Wilma was pretty bad too. I don't think they are as bad as tornado's. You have warning and can get prepared, or evacuate if you choose to.
I am currently a Decorative Metals welder. I fabricate aluminum and wrought iron railings, gates, wine cellar doors, window and door inserts and stuff like that. I enjoy being an artist and the pay is pretty good. But I think before too long I may choose to get into a different field. The work can be physically demanding, (heavy).
I still follow Minnesota sport teams. I am a Big Fan of the Twins and Vikings. The Twins have Spring Training in Ft Myers so I see a couple of those games every year. I saw the Twins play at Yankee Stadium just a month ago, That was a good time even though they lost. I hope the Vikings do better this year. I may go see them when they come to play the Buc's in Tampa in November.
Ya'all be good and have fun now!
