Connie's Story
Connie is from Key Largo, Florida. Her schools include Coral Shores High School. Connie married in her senior year of high school and was married to Greg Bachman for 12 years and had one son-Greg Jr. After divorcing Greg Connie went on to meet a wonderful man-Kenny Shields. Kenny was a Sergeant with the Avon Park Police Department. They married on 12-12-1987. They have had no children. Kenny progressed in his position at the PD in rank from Sgt. all the way up to Chief. Connie was afforded the opportunity to stay home and attend College and start her own business-Connie's Bridal Consulting and Parties Unlimited, which she had for ten years, until 1999 the Shields decided to move to The Keys. wn, Florida due to the very sudden death of my mother. We purchased land and had a large three bedroom double wide mobile home set up, so that I could be here to help care for my Father. After a few years my Dad decided move to the Keys to live with my brother Eddie and his wife, Shawn. Kenny had changed his career to the State in corrections. So we are still here in little Old Town-hating it!!
But whats a person to do? I am now disabled - due to severe migraines-I've had three brain surgeries and two shunts-but I'm still alive and kicking!! Time for an update we are on the move-we finally after 12 years are finally home- back in Avon Park, FL. So, far it has been really difficult we had been here only four weeks when Kenny had to have heart surgery. But thank the Lord he is fine! Praise God! We are now renting for a year or so until we find or build a home.
