Connie's Story
Life
I have not lead a very exciting life like some of our classmates, but I enjoy what I have.
I have been married since 1973 to the person I met as a sophmore at T.C. Williams. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and was transferred to El Toro, CA. We continued to stay in touch, and in 1973 I joined him in California where we got married. We returned to Virginia in 1974 where we continue to live.
In 1974, I had my first child, a son. In 1977, 1980, and 1982 I gave birth to my three daughters.
In December 1997, my oldest daughter gave me my first grandchild, a boy. In November 1998, my second daughter gave me my second grandson. In December 1999, she gave me my first granddaughter. In May 2000, my oldest daughter gave me another granddaughter. The grandchildren have kept...Expand for more
coming until I now have 11, the last three being born in January and February of 2004. In 2011, my son got married to a young lady that has three girls. that makes 14.
Initially I was a stay-at-home mom. In 1989, after all my children were in school, I went to work for the American Red Cross. I worked for them from 1989 to 2008, when I was laid off. After that I worked for a small real estate company as their staff accountant. Now I am retired and loving it.
I live in Woodbridge, VA and spend my time reading, doing needlepoint, crocheting, gardening and playing with my grandbabies. I finally got my Associate's Degree in Accounting in 2007, after (now get this) 24 years. I guess that is persistence. In 2010, I got my bachelor's degree. Finally, I am done with school.
