Life
Hey Cole Cougars of yesteryear!
I am Connie Moore, known back in the middle/late 60's as
Connie Johnson. My Dad was the Post Chaplain at Fort Sam. I was the lone black cheerleader at Cole during my sophomore and junior years. Had a great time. Have very warm memories of my time at RGC. I graduated from Tuskegee University in Alabama in social work. I lived in San Francisco after graduation for 10 years before moving back down south to be close to relatives. I have lived in the Metro Atlanta area for over 20 years. I have one son who graduated from Florida A & M University on a swim scholarship. Yea, that's right, some black folks CAN swim :0)! My son married a fellow swim team member at FAMU and they have 2 sons. My grand sons are age 2 and 4 months and they are the joy of my life. am a grant writer for a faith-based community development center.
My father is 86 and lives in a retirement community here in the metro Atlanta area. He has dementia but is physically very healthy. My Mom died of breast cancer 1n 1997. Sadly, we lost one of my younger sisters Anita, who also went to Cole, suddenly to cancer, in 2006 at the age of 52. My other sister, Leslie, who also went to Cole, lives here in Metro Atlanta and works in marketing research. My baby brother, Kenneth, is an attorney who lives in Brooklyn with his wife, who is also an attorney, and their two sons.
I enjoy writing, politics and helping the downtrodden.
I love bragging about going to Cole with Alan Keyes and I love telling people that Shaq went to my high school!!!
I also get a lot of mileage from the fact that I went to college with Lionel Richie and the Commodores and Tom Joyner. Ok, so I'm a shameless name dropper. I have a lot of fun with it!
