Connie's Story
Hi Jim. what a surprise.. Here we are at 86 and still looking forward to the next good things to happen in our lives. Jim and I have just moved to Independence Village in Petoskey, , Michigan. He had some problems over the winter but is back to the college to work out 3 days a week. In early Dec. he had a laminectoy and was back on the hills by Mar 15. He gave up teachin when he knew he had to have surgery. I rained as an English teacher but when he said he didn't want his life to change,, i decided to volunteer which I did....got reallly involved in that. Had two children boy and girl who are a joy and only 1 grandchild who is beginning her career in research at Cornell Med School in NYC on the first. Of course there is a long story attached to that. For me, I enjoyed my friends and then got busy in duplicate bridge when Jim took early retirement from Buicik.. So we traveled arouind collecting...Expand for more
masterpoints until we became Lifemasters and then we taught bridge in Bay View where we had a summer cottage and will be moving there in two weeks for a fun summer but we gave up teaching bridge just before the pandemic.. Now , though I am a good cook, I was ready to stop cooking and let the chefs do it. Guess I will have to pick it up again when I get to the cottage. My one complaint is my back. If I don't over do I am okay, but anything over 25 mins in the kitchen requires ice for my back. That's about 1'/10th of my life. These iout of the blue things are fun and add excitement to our lives. I got another message along with your s from Kaye Bartlett from the Freeland area which I will probably answer too. Thanks for being the spark in my life today, Jim. It's only been 69 years !! Connie and we skied most of the west. Jim taught at Beaver Creek for 3 years a while ago.
