Hey there RHS alums! I passed the big 55 and am holding up so far. Right after HS, I moved back to Texas, attended Texas Lutheran University (near San Antonio), attended seminary in Columbus, Ohio, and have been a Lutheran pastor since 1980. I met my wife Paula at seminary-- she's a pastor, too! I've been something of a specialsist in ministry for the last 16 years-- I am an interim pastor-- something along the lines of "long term subbing." I take charge of a congreation when their "permanent" pastor leaves. Usually that's due to retiremnet, or being called to another parish, though occasionally someone has "misbehaved' or been "run out of town." Hey, it happens. I help them deal with whatever has happened, and get ready to start in a new direction with someone new. Paula, on the other hand, has been pastor of her parish for 21 years in Lakewood, a really fun first-ring suburb of Cleveland. We live less than a mile from Lake Erie-- Lakewood is an ecclectic mix of families, older folks (we just moving from one group to the other), first time renters, along with the multiple ethnics, a LGBT community, and artists. We used to say it was a "college town without a college", but now the University of Akron is opening a branch in one of our repurposed office buildings downtown. We have 2 girls, Brenna and Greer.
