conrad's Story
After reading the other profiles I was ashamed by my pitiful little entry. We certainly have some interesting and accomplished classmates. But here is my story.
I joined the navy right after graduation and entered the nuclear propulsion program. After several duty stations, one of them being Idaho Fails--And yes the rumors are true they do have three eared jack rabbits due to all the radiation leakage, although I never saw a jackalope, I decided not to re-up and left the service. As you might expect after being around all that spit and polish, my head was a mess. So I packed a couple of pairs of jeans and some shirts in a back pack and went to Europe for 2 years. I stayed in 1 spot long enough to earn enough money to move on and had a great time and learned alot about myself. I finally ran out of money and employment outside of Nairobi and hopped a military flight home( security clearances have their bennies).
Still not knowing what I wanted to do, I saw an ad for the postal exam.I figured I as used to wearing a dumb looking uniform,so I took the test. Soon after I became the Cliff Claven of my dreams. I transfered to M...Expand for more
i. in 1990 and met Susan. We got married in 1992 and have been here ever since. We retired in 2005 and I finally talked Susan in going back to Europe with me. She had never traveled much and was a bit skeptical. SHE LOVED IT. So we went back until we had seen all of Europe, Russia, and china, and since we made friends with a couple from Ecuador, we seen most of South and Central America.
Unfortunately Susan was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2013 and has progressed at a very quick rate. We are now involved in 2 clinical studies, but I think it is much too late to help Susan. Hopefully it will help others. So I find myself in the roll of a house husband and care taker. It's a trail and error profession the way I do it. Some days are good, others not so much.
I spend my free time in the woods around the house or tending to the many flower beds and things are pretty good. So that's my story and I hope to see you at the reunion to share your adventures. I've already connected with some of you,Some I've wanted to talk to for a very long time, Who taught time to fly.
P.S. We are to be Great Grandparents in Sept. Can't wait.
