Life I have lived in Tennessee starting in 1978 when my husband, Jack, got a job with TVA. From 1967 till 1976, Jack was in the Navy as a pilot so we moved around a lot and finally wanted to settle down and raise our 2 sons in a peaceful environment. I am currently a school counselor in a rural, K-12 public school with a total of 700 students. I work with grades 6-12 and love it. I keep saying that I am going to retire but love to be with the students. I have a Peace in Action club for Middle and High schoolers to help them build stronger relationships and help the school in recycling. I love sports so attend almost all of the high school teams games. Jack and I have been helping with the wrestling team and having a great time. Last year we purchased a Snow Ball business and do some of the events at school and local events. We have a great time and plan to do more of that when we retire. Our sons and daughter-in-law often help us too. Often students from my school will help too to make some money. I am looking into building a miniature golf course somewhere near the school. We don't have much in recreation except the school athletic programs and after-school sports. My youngest son, Jeff, went to Ice Cream school in NC and we would also like to open an Ice Cream store that students could work in when I retire from the school counseling. We live in a log home made out of 2 old log cabins on an inlet of Tellico Lake. We have a boat and canoe and enjoy spending time on the lake. We have done a lot of the work on our home ourselves and are currently planning to add a additional bathroom, laundry room, sun room and turn our current sun room into an office on the main floor.
