Jerald's Story

Life Hello again to all my former classmates! While I may not make the reunion I will give those of you interested (so far that's no one) my bio sketch. As you may remember, I joined the Army in my senior year and spent the next three years in the service, most notably in Korea. You may also remember I married Catherine Beaumont about that same time. The marriage did not last as long as the Army tour. I returned for a short while in '78 and '79, working as a supervisor at Texas Instruments. In '80 I went to California to go to college. I attended Northrop University and met, and married, my second wife, Devona. That was April 19, 1980, and we just celebrated 24 years together. From there we've been to Livermore, CA., Minneapolis MN., and then we settled in Colorado where we've remained. Later, I went back to school and received a BS and an MS in Computer Science. Someday I'll probably do that Doctoral thing. As you might expect, I stayed with electronics (remember I was a techno-geek in high school?) and it's been good to me. While professionally I'm a computer guy I have a side business working with high-end audio/video and music systems and I'm still a music nut! I still have recordings of the CHS band in my collection. We have two kids. Chris is 18, Rhiannon is 16 and are struggling with "teenagerhood" as we oursel...Expand for more
ves did when we were that age. These days, I work for Nortel Networks, do some teaching on the side, play with my electronic projects, listen to music (instead of watching tv) and show and race my Porsche when I can afford to (which is not often enough!). So...life has been good to me and I hope for you as well. I still remember my high school days (more fondly now than then) and many names I see conjure up powerful memories. I wish you all The Best and hope to see some of you again someday. I still have family in Lubbock so who knows? Until we meet again I remain your long forgotten classmate, Jerald (Jerry) Cook... PS: August 25, 2007 and time for an update. I left Nortel and now work independently as a consulting engineer. Dev (my beautiful wife)and I have been traveling a lot, have a nutrition business that is doing very well and I am managing our real estate holdings. I remain very busy and I'm having a good time! PS: July 6, 2010 and time for another update. Dev and I enjoyed my consulting gigs highlighted with a trip to Australia for three months. When we got back I ended up back in the defense contracting business and then moved into a government project management role for NORAD and USNORTHCOM (US Northern Command). Very exciting and gratifying work! Life is great! I hope for you as well! Blessings, Jerry
