Wendy's Story
Life goes by quickly or at least that's my perception from today's vantage point. I went to Hamilton Hi. Left early. Attended USC for Freshman year. Returned to UCLA for my Bachelor's degree in History. I taught social studies to Junior High Students (before Middle School). Loved my World History and American History classes. The kids were spectacular. I left to be a stay at home mom for the first nine years. I have a married son who lives in New York with his wife and they own an Art Gallery. Feel free to visit when in the Big Apple. It is the Derek Eller Gallery in Chelsea. Most of my career was in education. I went back for a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from USC and spent most of my years being a Middle and Secondary School Counselor. But some of the real highlights of my life have been travel. Flying over Victoria Falls in Africa, Heli-hiking in the Canadian Rockies, traveling up the Nile and spending time at various ranches. All have indelible places in my heart. I travel less now, but do like visiting my son's and daughter-in-law's small country home in Hilldale, NY.

Lastly, I've developed an interest in psychoanalysis. The contemporary form has morphed into an emphasis on early attachment and the traumatic events that transpired that might have injured that attachment. It is a much more present therapy focusing on the present relationships and issues of a person's life. But there is an ongoing work to bring the unconscious to the conscious. I attend a lot of the workshops. The good news is that I get continuing education credits which are mandatory to maintain one's license.
