Corinna's Story

Life Hi there. I hope you are all well. Here is a synopsis of the last 20+ years. When I left Bowness high I quit school. I moved around a lot in my life, Edmonton, Carstairs, Medicine Hat, Calgary and various places within. I found my home in Saskatchewan in 1996. It is an amazing place with lots of kind hearted people. I have spent most of my working life doing secretarial work. Which I decided last week that I would rather mow lawns. hahaha I lived common law for 9 and a half years, from 19 to 28 and decided that was enough of that and moved on. I met my husband over 13 years ago and we became friends. We have been together ever since. We married in 1999. I have two wonderful kids who are 25 and 22. I have been blessed in my life. I am lucky to have have become reacquainted with a couple of people thru classmates and hope to stay in touch with them. It is nice to see how much each of us has grown up and how different we are from each other. I like these people as adults. It is cool to get to know them again. I love to have fun and to laugh. It seems to be what I do best. My hubby and kids appreciate that most I think because all 3 of them are tricksters and jokers. It makes life interesting. There is always a surprise or a trick going on. I have learned that you never know it all, and that you should slow down and take the time to appreciate those who are important to you as maybe one day they will be gone and you will have regrets. Since we visited Jamaica in January I have really seen a slow pace and how it makes life much less stressful. It was fantastic. I try to take time to know everyone in my environment...Expand for more
at least to say hi. Everyone is important in their own right. I think those are the two pretty important lessons that I have learned so far but I am sure there will be lots more. I am sure I will change this from time to time as I think of important things and some not so important. School 20/20 vision I guess. I am a little late getting my university education but here I am doing it. I am seriously considering either human resources or communications as a future until retirement. Or Super 7. tee hee Seriously, remember you are never to old to learn something new. Life is too short being satisfied thinking you know all there is to know. As of the end of Fall 06 semester I got my Certificate in Business Administration. College I quit school when I moved from Calgary. That was half way thru grade 11. I went back and got my diploma in 1992. Then went to various work related courses and computer courses. I have spent most of my career as a secretary. I am now an Administrative Assistant and I am attending university to place myself in a higher ranking job with in the government. i just got my Certificate in Business Administration at the end of 06. Workplace Work is fantastic. I changed to a different department a few months back and I am very happy with my job and my co-workers. I am still an Admin Assistant but my job is so different. It is dealing more with office management. I don't think I have put out 10 pieces of typing since I got there. I arrange orientation for new employees, etc. Keep track of criminal check results and many interesting duties. I will be eligible for higher levels once I have my certificate.
