Corinne's Story
Life
I'm currently in Huntington Beach, caregiving for my mom who is receiving hospice care in her home. I'm amazed that I can do this and grateful that my mom has such a wonderful spirit and is making it easy on me by being cheerful and fun-loving and by not being in pain. I have been a widow for over five years and have no children so I have been free to do this for the last eight months. My home is in Walnut Creek, up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I have been able to make it home for a week...Expand for more
here and there just to keep up with bills and home maintenance, etc.
I do scrapbooking, card-making, journaling, letter writing, reading, computer stuff, etc. when my mom is sleeping. When she's awake we watch Golden Girls and Who Wants to be a Millionaire on TV. Her dying wish is that my sister and I audition for the Millionaire show and we've promised to do that. My mom and I plan my strategy while we watch the show so we're really invested and have fun playing along.
So that's my life today.
