Patsy's Story
In high school I was Chuck Champion's girlfriend. After graduation we married, had 2 children (a girl & a boy), and divorced 5 years later. I remarried 2 more times but gave up on married life after my third divorce.
I earned a Bachelor degree in 1998.
I retired from a paralegal position with the California Dept of Corrections and Rehabilitation at the end of December 2011. I moved to the Modesto, CA area because my son, daughter-in-law & 2 of my grandsons live in Modesto. I've been surprised that retirement has been very hard to adjust to...it's not "just not going to work."
I have 2 more adult grandchildren in Texas, my only gran...Expand for more
ddaughter and another grandson. I had another grandson in Texas who joined the Army right after high school. He was deployed to Iraq and had a difficult time dealing with everything that happened over there. Just before he was to deploy to Afghanistan, his Iraq-demons took over and he committed suicide...he was only 21 years old and dearly loved. My daughter has had a really hard time dealing with this tragedy. I miss him LOTS!
I belong to the Oakdale Red Hats and I volunteer 1 day per week at the Oakdale Animal Shelter where I just play with the dogs. My very old dog, Sally, forgives me for all the new dog smells I come home with.
