Cory's Story
Graduated high school... partied and worked, pretty much stayed drunk and hung around with all the wrong people from 1980 to 1994. I got married and got divorced. Sobered up started my own business, did well in that and decided there was more to life than just getting another car ready for an auto show...
Went back to college at the tender age of 39.
Met Penny Hamilton O'Dell online and conversed for a couple of years... between her flying up from Phoenix to see me or me flying from Bennett CO to see her we single handedly kept United Airlines in business :-)
Married Penny after graduating in 2003 at Crossroads Baptist Church on 104th and Huron, and moved to Phoenix directly afterward to live with my new wife and start my trek to a bachelors degree in nursing at ASU. I Graduated from ASU with my BSN in 2005... with my mom succumbing to cancer and passing away in 2004, and Kevin Christopherson passing away in Calif 6 months later, that semester at school was difficult at best, but a lot better than what others were going through.
Well 5 years into my new career and life ...Expand for more
has thrown me yet another curve, I was at Arizona Heart Hospital when they started going through death pangs... I lasted as long as possible, but shortly after my boss was run off I was face to face with the hatchet man for the corporation without the backing of a good boss or a competent upper management, I decided it was time to say good bye and put my return to college on hold. After doing registry nursing for a year to get my ICU skills back up to par, I have found a new home at the 2nd largest burn center in the US, Maricopa Integrated Health System. I plan on staying in this role until I go back for my doctorate nurse practitioners license.
So, to sum it up Penny and I are doing well here in Phoenix... as long as the A/C don't breakdown, and I'm now doing auto body and paint again in the manner I can appreciate... as a hobby :-)
If we used to hang together drop me a line and tell me how your doing. And to you who knew me so many years ago, I'm not who I used to be, and if I ever wronged you, I hope by now you've come to find forgiveness for the dumb ass I used to be.
