Courtney's Story

Life- After spending my senior year as an exchange student in Brazil I went onto IU Bloomington, where I majored in Portuguese and History (specializing in Latin America and the Caribbean). I also completed my Masters in International Affairs, with an emphasis on U.S. Foreign Policy, in 2004 (Only took me 7 years!). I have had a position with the federal government for the past 30 years, and love living on the East Coast. I'm married and have two kids (a girl who is 16 and a boy who is 14) -- My husband and I are having a blast reliving our childhoods with our kids -- Travel softball, Girl Scouts, bowling, fishing, Boy Scouts, taking them on adventures, and laughing lots! ;) Free time is spent with the kids, dogs, parrot and other critters, traveling, working on the house and in the yard, swimming, reading, walking and (no kiddiing!) basket weaving. you most? Mr. Rarick and Mr. Ossanna If you could do it all over again would you? No Other memories: - Academic Decathalon Team the first year L.C. participated, with Bob Bates, Frank Kostorous, Steve Kistler, Amy ??, and Eugenia ?? . Winning the Super Quiz at Regionals which allowed us to move onto the semi-state competition where we didn't fare as well but still had fun. - Decorating homecoming floats at Chris Gustis' house; and Powder Puff football junior year. - Spending the summer before I went to Brazil (between junior and senior year) with Sharon Geary, Kevin Null, Kathy Langfield, Jennifer Makarowski, and others; roadtrip to Turkey Run State Park. - Going out with a group to Pizza Hut, Round the Clock, or White Castle after home football games. - Hearing about all the great things everyone was doing senior year while I was in Brazil -- through letters and phone calls from friends family, and newspaper articles, the school paper, and pictures being sent to me. - Extra-curricular activities: Pep Club/Locker Buddies, Spanish Club
