Life
Hi,
After high school I went to Delta. I was bit by wanderlust and went to the University of Kentucky for Pharmacy school. Decided I wanted to be a chemist so I doubled majored in biology and chemistry. It was here that I developed a deep love for bourbon and basketball. This was followed by graduate school at The Ohio State University where I earned a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry (Go Bucks!) I met my future wife during this time. I also learned to appreciate burning couches and Budweiser at this stop. job. In Montana I spent much time in the woods mountain biking, hiking, skiing snowboarding, hot springing etc. A great state to live if you love winter and are alright with just three weeks of summer. I moved to the University of Utah where I am a Director of a laboratory at the School of Medicine. I study metabolism in a wide range of organisms and diseases using mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance. I very much enjoy this work but it keeps me busy. I moved to Salt Lake City to enjoy the great outdoors but work keeps me from being outside as much as I want. Oh well. No kids yet.
