Craig's Story
I was able to finally get clean and sober after some serious drug and alcohol issues in high school and after high school. Overdosed and almost passed away which finally was the catalyst for my becoming clean. Have been clean and sober 41 years. I live in Fort Washington. Married for 39 years to my wife, Maryalice, who was willing to take a chance with me as I started my journey to recovery. There truly are angels sent to us in this world. I have four productive and compassionate children and two granddaughters. I worked for 20 years in electronic sales and marketing as a sales engineer and national sales manager for two Fortune Five Hundred companies. I went through an early midlife crisis; went back to school for a Masters plus 20 credits in Counseling Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis; and then walked away from the business world to become a mental health professional. oard Certified Behavior Analyst and Licensed Behavior Specialist. After twenty three years of treating children and adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder who engage in severe Physical Aggression and Self- Injury, I finally admitted to my self that providing the physical interventions needed in treating this population were probably too much for my 65 year old body. Lol !!! I sold that part of my practice to someone I mentored for years. I opened a new practice where I provided Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Humanistic Behavioral Therapy to adults diagnosed with Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia. My office was in Newtown, Pa.. You truly can teach an old dog new tricks. I finally decided that I wanted to spend more time with my family and grandchildren and retired. I wake up everyday feeling lucky to have the life I have and count my blessings. I would love to hear from any of my old friends that I have lost track of. Peace to everyone and your loved ones.
