Craig's Story

Life Kind a funny how I got to where I am at this time (March 29, 2005) I am on a little island in the Exumas called Highbourne Cay. The Exumas are about 30 miles east of Nassau, Bahamas. I ran away from home so to speak in 1997 with my then girlfriend Sandy. We met a gentleman that owned a 100 foot motor yacht who asked us to work for him. We traveled the Caribbean for a year on his yacht "Joans Ark" with his family. Next we worked for Ted Roger of Cantel/AT&T fame. A very highly regarded Canadian billionaire on his 118 foot yacht "Loretta Anne" for the better part of a year cruising the Bahamas and the east coast of Mexico. Sadly Sandy and I parted ways after this job but are still best friends to this day. She is still on yacht and is chief stewardess on a 180 foot yacht called "Amour Azur" From there I relocated to Newport Rhode Island and joined a brand new 171 foot Feadship (the Rolls Royce of yachts) called "Solemates" for the owner of Reebok. Stayed with Mr. Fireman (real name) for 2 years traveling the Mediteranean and the Caribbean. I did meet my then Solemate Dione a beautiful Australian blond who I spent 3 years with. Dione and I went to southern England and I got my 200 ton captains liscence. I began working as a chief officer on 150 to 250 foot yachts all over the world. In May 2002 I received my 3000 ton captains liscence. I then lived and worked out of Antibes, France running yachts in the Cote D'azur. I have since bought and sold a yacht management company in Ft Lauderdale, lived in and traveled the east coast of Australia for 8 months in 2003 and most recently was the build chief officer for the 186 foot motor yacht Sycara III in Freemantle, Western Australia. Last year I took some time off and traveled south east Asia... I was in Kho Pi Pi exactly 1 year to the day the Tsun...Expand for more
ami wiped it out. I now am captain on a 100 foot yacht called "Lady Alice" working for of all people a Montrealer with the last name of Nihon. Strange how things work. I am single and loving life. I base the yacht out of Paradise Island, Nassau Bahamas for 8 months a year and have the summers off on the yacht in Ft Lauderdale. Now this seems a bit like a resume... but its just the life I live. Who would of thought? Anyone around drop me a line. Sea ya Dec. 23,2006 Here I am back in Nassau... My sort of home now. Just flew in from Puerto Vallarta to spend Christmas with my girl Kyrene and my mom. I flew mom down for a sandy x mas. What a sweet son. I started working for a friend of mine who bought a 100 ft yacht last year around this time. Got bored of sitting still. Itchy feet. Shipped the yacht to Victoria, BC and spent the summer traveling 1000 miles north through the inside passage up as far as Juneau Alaska. A lot of fishing... we tow a 33 ft fishing catamaran. Caught the biggest Tyee salmon of the season (see photo) Went south in the beginning of September with 3 weeks spent in Vancouver, 2 weeks in San Francisco, 2 weeks in LA and 3 weeks in San Diego. I barley survived SOCAL. Way to much partying. (See Photos) I have been in Mexo for the last 6 weeks based out of Cabo... didn't make the Bisbee $4 million Black and Blue this year but we will fly in for next years tournee. I could use a quarter share of 4 mill. Been in PV (Puerto Vallarta) for a few weeks and fly back on Dec. 28. Next stop Acapulco, Costa Rica for a month or more and Panama for who knows how long. I just thought I would update this but look out for my My Space site coming soon. Anyone who cares can see what I have been up to the last few years. It has been great. I am living a dream. Sea ya Craig
