Craig's Story
Hi, Classmate! I hope your post South Shore years have been as interesting and blessed as have been mine. True, I've been married and divorced more than once; true I have had to deal with periods of financial shortfall. But today, I am happy, healthy, well employed, spiritually at peace, beloved by my family and filled with wonderful memories that began back when you and I shared the halls of SSH. Like you, I've lost some very dear friends and family to the inevitability of mortality. But also like you I have continued to be blessed by God's merciful protection of my own life force. I have a job that is professionally and financially rewarding and personally fulfilling.
I have devoted my life to public relations and have 24 years of experience in this area. I've also been published as a writer in several newspapers and magazines and have even hosted a TV show or two way back when.
I am very involved in my church--Sheldon Heights Church of Christ--and invite you to come and worship with us...Expand for more
one Sunday morning (services are at 8, 11 and 5). Sheldon Heights is located at 113th & Halsted Street.
I lost my Dad in 1981 to an automobile accident and my best friend, Ronnie Logan (remember him?) to respiratory disease in 1994. But my mother, three brothers and sister are all healthy. I have no kids but I do have three nieces and a nephew and a grand nephew (4 yrs.) and grand niece (4 months). My nephew Jordan is my surragate son and the joy of my life.
I am so very eager to reconnect with so many of you. My memories of South Shore--as a football Tar, a Creative Arts Workshop writer, a DECA officer, and that rarity of rarities, a four-eyed geek who played football--are all warm and well-remembered.
Over the years my path has crossed with Charles Whitaker, Carolyn Gunn, Beverly Hinton, Sherman Abernathy, Theresa Ceaser, and a few others whose names or experiences escape me right now.
I live in Hyde Park and I'd love to hear from you!
Praise God and Keep in Peace,
Craig "Doctor" May
