... After graduation and the reality of not receiving a football scholarship to college, I threw a graduation party, thank you to Mitch Rutman and Tim Foley band for providing the music, I left for southern California and enrolled at Santa Ana Community College (now Rancho Santiago C.C.). Two years/seasons (09/83-03/85)later I accepted a full football scholarship to the University of Utah. Two more years/seasons (03/85-05/87) at University of Utah going to school and playing football. In the spring of 1987 I signed as a free agent with the Washington Redskins and made the team. That year our team went on to win Super Bowl XXII. After being released by the Washington Redskins in summer of '89, I was signed by the San Diego Chargers in December that same year and played 3 more seasons. I bought a sports bar in Oct.'92. In spring of 1995 I attempted to comeback to the NFL. I signed with the NFL Euro league, the NFL "minor league". I was selected and played for the Amsterdam Admirals in the Netherlands. It was great! We lived in a Holiday Inn for 3 months in Amsterdam and traveled to cities such as Edinburgh, Scotland; London, England; Barcelona, Spain; Frankfurt & Dusseldorf, Germany; Paris, France and Milan, Italy gto watch the UEFA Cup Championship Game. rtunately my NFL comeback ended when I found out that I would need surgery on my lower back. I had the first of two surgeries on my lower back in June of 1995 and the second in July of 1997. I sold my sports bar in the spring of '99 to prepare for the arrival of my angel, Shay Hannah McEwen, born April 2,1999. MY BEST FRIEND TO THIS DAY! I stayed home with Hannah for her first two years. It is then my relationship ended with my girlfriend and I began the "single dad" phase of my life. From there I took position for a San Diego health club. I resigned last summer to focus spending time with "MY BEST FRIEND". I did some volunteer work with a charity. This spring I assisted in coaching her softball team... she made all-stars! Now its soccer. (I will post more pictures of her) Currently I am working on a business plan for a that will produce oil on canvas images/art of professional athletes. I am will donate a portion of the proceeds to breast cancer ( my mom passed away in January 2004 was the GREAT LADY that allowed me to have those parties in the day ) and childrens charities. Remember even the smallest gesture (time, food, old clothes & toys or money) WILL Make a big difference in someone's life who is in need! ALL THE BEST TO EVERYONE!
