Craig's Story
IT has been many years since my Ely days. My family moved from Ely in 1966, just before our Senior year at White Pine High. I moved to Wenatchee Washington and graduated from there. I appreciated Pauline Alder for finding me and inviting me to the reunions. I have many fond memories from Ely, and many good friends. After graduating from High School, I went on a mission to England for the Mormon Church, I came home and went to BYU. I graduated from the Y in 1975 with a degree in Advertising Marketing. I married Ruth Smith in August 1975 and we moved to St Petersburg Florida. The company that recruited me turned out to be a little on the shady side so I started looking for another job, i was recruited by a company in Salt Lake City so we came back west. y 4th. Business has been good to me.
Ruth and I have 6 children, and 18 grandchildren. We lived in Draper Utah for 18 years and just recently decided to downsize. In Draper we had three acres which backed up to a mountain, so as time went on it became harder and harder to keep it up as my knees were wearing out, and all of the elevation changes in the yard make it difficult to maintain. When we moved to draper there were about 3500 people that lived there, when we moved there were just under 50,000. The time we lived there it went from a sleepy farming community to a big city. We put our house up for sale and sold in in 45 days. So we went looking for another house. We ended up in Lehi Utah and have been enjoying a much smaller yard and house.
For the past 10 years my knees have been going bad do I decided to do something about it. I had total knee replacement surgery in March and the other in June. Now I am working on rehab.
I would appreciate hearing from any of you and lets catch up on old times.
