Creel's Story
Life
After leaving Fort Myers, I went to FSU, dropped out in 1968, was drafted and served 19 mos and 20 days, most of it at the Presidio in San Francisco. After release I went back to FSU, got into what a lot of us got into in the sixties, graduated finally, and got a job working for the state. That lasted about a year and a half, then I got a job doing crisis counseling for a drug rehab placement center. It was here that I met my wife, Shelley. 1983 we moved to Tennessee where over three years we built our own house. When Shelley got pregnant I figured it was time to get a real job, so I went back to school to get certified to teach science and math. I have been teaching since 1986, and still enjoy it (mostly). In 1992 I was in an automobile accident and broke the c2 vertabra in my neck and had to wear a halo brace for 3 months. That was probably the low point in my life (not counting the army). I have a 17 year old son, a wonderful kid, but typically teenager in a lot of ways. Hope to hear from some of you.
