Jeffrey's Story

Life Folks ... If my math is correct (thanks to the education that Clairemont High provided me), I believe I'm about to turn 50. This has to be the "new 40" or 30 they refer to because no way in hell am I really that old. I know because I still can stand on my own without a cane. And will you take a look at my hair! I think there's more now than when my Jr. high school math teacher Grimes would call me "hair-doo"! It's about time I stop saying, "When I grow up I want to be ..." since I'm probably there now. So what's up: I'm a speaker, I co-wrote a book with Bob Proctor who is one of the stars in the movie "The Secret", I was featured for 2 years on that late night infomercial "Secrets to Making Money" staring Fran Tarkenton (I was the guy who made the now infamous claim to making money placing small, classified ads, and yes, I did), and in 2008 I had my 2 minutes of air time in the DVD release, "The Art of Business". I also launched a franchise in the swimming pool service industry. I've been busy. Here's the secret ... dream BIG dreams. How cool is that? Everyday something new, something great is about to unveil itself. But, be careful what you wish for ... you just might get it! Quick run down of a few years prior and during HS - Laree C. was my first girlfriend, but I had a crush on Laura Cartright, a mutual friend. Penny Belcher was my first kiss, but it took her brother to hold me down (I was 11)...Expand for more
. Sorry, Penny... I was a bit naive. Friends I spent time with included Mike Frey, James Hendon, Mike Dunbar and Glen Aarons. Oh, yeah ... James Tate. How about Henry Galardo? How have you been? I never forgot those initials of yours: H. O. G. (Oscar was your real middle name, right?) Words I was hooked on: Neet-o, Duh, sucks, cool (It's vogue again), hey man, killer, and dude. And the word I was absolutely addicted to was "boss". My first j.o.b. in HS was Jack in the Box over at the Clairemont Square. I was there for all of high school! I remember Manny, my manager. He said to me the week I graduated "quit or your fired. Son, it's time that you moved on." You see, he straight our told me he didn't want me to end up at a dead end job. Tough guy, but I know he liked me. I wish him the best. I remember being told in English class I couldn't write, so I wrote a book. I was told if I didn't finish college I couldn't get a decent job, so I started a business. I was told I was shy, so I become a motivational speaker. I was told to keep my thoughts to myself, so I became a consultant. I admired the movie, "The Secret", so I had a role in a movie documentary featuring Bob Proctor, one of the stars of The Secret. Isn't life grand? Update: After all this, I'm now 50. I recently found God and Jesus. Actually, they found me... but that's another story I'll have to write about someday! Best in success, Jeff
