Dieter's Story

I can't believe it has been 43 years since graduation. I have had a very blessed life. After flunking out of Central State ( 2 F's and 3 incompletes) I join the Marine. Thinking I would do my 2 year and go back to school on the GI bill. Well 21 years later I retired from the Marine Corps. I was able to see the world being stationed in Europe (Germany and London) The far east in Japan and throughout the US. After a short 2 week vacation I went to work as a fraud investigator for an insurance company and after 18 years took early retirement as a disability fraud consultant. I now live with my wife of 12 years in Waukee Iowa, once a small farm town now a bedroom community west of Des Moines. We have a beautiful 4 bedroom ran...Expand for more
ch town house in a gated community with a 40 acre lake. We love Iowa as we can take long weekend trips to Chicago (shopping Michigan Ave is great fun), go to the Mall of American in Minneapolis, go to Kansas City and Omaha only a few hours away. We have 4 seasons and can tell if it is summer, winter, fall or spring with usually a white Christmas. We love to travel and go to Maui every other year and when not going to Maui we go to the Bahamas. Other vacation have been to Vancouver, San Francisco, San Diego, Sante Fe, Savannah , Washington DC and New England. Out side of the states we have been to Hong Kong, mainland China, Australia, South Africa, Spain, Greece, Italy, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Scotland.
