Harry's Story
The songs I added to my top ten list were not my favorite. Just songs on the Jukebox at Achenbach's where we hung out in the early 60's.
Life
Started Work at Phillip Simon's Grocery store at 30th and madison after graduation. Started work at General Motors March 19, 1963. Worked on Line 30 years. Danny Statnokov inspired me to start taking piano lessons and I learned one song and audition for Army National Guard Band. Spent 6 years a Bass Drummer, sometime Cymbal, Triangle or Cow Bell. Using my musical experience, I started my own DJ business in December 1980. Still run it today at age 66. (although things feel a lot heavier). My greatest DJ experience was playing 2 of our class reunions. 86 & 91. Retired from GM January 1993, 2 days after my 50th birthday. Started next day as computer tech. d me to wipe them off. I didn't really know how to even turn one on. But after 4 years of driving all over PA & De I got tired of being on the road. Got job as Counsler at Wilmington Convention & Visitor Burea. Then start their Web page from Scratch. Been Keeping it up 3 years now. In February 1999 we bought house in Rehoboth (Midway) Sold our Wilmington Slum home and moved down here to Paradise. Anyone interested in Visiting, we have plenty of room for guests. Just let us know in advance. I still write the web page. They send my check down every 2 weeks. Trying to get my DJ business started down here, but it is proving hard. Been Married to Beverly since April 18,1973. Its funny, some of the people I never talked to in high school are now my best friends. And some of my best friends I have not seen since graduation day. Would love to hear from some of you.
