John's Story
Life
I have three sons, Todd (41), Brian (29) and Raymond (18). They are cool people, and better than me in every way.
I finally made it, professionally-wise speaking: I treat sex offenders in state prison.
My dad passed away in Feb of 2007.
School
Craig Bailing (English) was one of the best instructors I've ever encountered.
The Social Work Dept. at CSULB is far less interested in teaching Social Work than they are in promoting leftist social dogma. What's crazy is they're really straight forward about it. No attempts to hide it.
Torrance Adult School is SUPERB !!!
College
Loyola Marymount is a pretty good place to do your grad work.
Workplace
Office politics is nasty, nasty stuff. Where you see it in its most intense form is in state social service agencies. ...Expand for more
Why is it that the sewage always seems to rise to the top in such places?
Military
Being in the USAF was a superb experience. Good people, good food, good learning experience.
With the current wasting of young American lives in the sewer the middle east, I would warn any and every kid AWAY from joining the military.
Life Lesson for Me
One the fundamental things that I've learned is friendships are tremendously important. At South I met one of the best friends of my entire life and that was George Goddard. He graduated in 1976. Unfortunately, I lost contact with George. My missed chances at friendships in high school are very sad for me. One of these was with Steve Betker, also in the class of 1976. This kid offered friendship, but I was to stupid too recognize it.
