Sue's Story
Life
I graduated from ASU with a degree in vocal performance. I married Dave Kenly soon after, and had 2 daughers and one son, who are grown and have blessed me with 8 wonderful grandchildren. They all live in Phx. I was a stay at home Mom for many years, but after my divorce I obtained a real estate license and still do some selling. I have been the Artistic Director of the Phoenix Girls Chorus for 20 years and it is more than a full time job! This is an auditioned program of about 200 girls in 5 choirs. My advanced choirs tour and sing all over the world. I don't have much time beyond my children and work, but I love to hike, read as much as possible, and ski and play tennis occasionally. I go by what is left of PUHS frequently, and always feel a sense of longing and nostalgia for those great y...Expand for more
ears of high school. I am also taking my second trip back to my childhood places in Penn. and W. VA. this summer. I spent an incredible week there last summer after a choral convention, just visiting one small area where I had lived before moving to Phoenix the summer before I started high school. I guess this is my "sentimental journey!" I have done many wonderful things in my life, raised horses, flown all over the West and Mexico in a small plane, (not as the pilot), backpacking in the Grand Canyon and elsewhere. My greatest achievement beyond my family though, is working with the most exceptional girls in the world in the Phoenix Girls Chorus. I have had at least 1,000 girls go through the program. Their voices and their sweetness will always be in my heart. I hope life has been good to you.
