Robert's Story
I am adjusting to life after my wife died (July 9, 2009). I have a growing group of friends in Paso Robles where I have lived since December 1975.
I am caring for a new family - 5 foster grandchildren. It is great realizing that I am too old to do some of the things I would like to do with the kids.
After retiring Sue and I worked through over 19 months of treatment for her menanoma. I now realize that we had grown closer than I imangined in the 42 years we were mmarried. The adjustments to single life have been beyond words. There are days that just go by and I never know what happened to the day - it is a blank.
Workplace (no longer - I retired October 30, 2009)

tional Chaplain with nearly 28 years service with the California Youth Authority. I serve the El Paso de Robles Youth Correctional Facility which houses 400 plus young men 15 to 18 years of age and a unit of the Monterey County Juvenile Hall (13 - 16 year old males)
I have received the Distinguished Service Award from the CYA and I am a Certified Correctional Chaplain of the American Protestant Correctional Chaplain's Association and Certified Chaplain of the American Correctional Chaplain's Association.
My Doctoral Work followed the theme of impediments to faith development found in young men committed to the CYA in the 70's, 80's through 1993. The title of my Doctoral Material is "On the Road to Hell."
