Curt's Story

A Coggins Christmas 2009 Greetings to all! We hope your year has run counter to the national trend. It has been a year full of opportunity to take stock in the truly important things in life: friends and family. Here is what has been going on with our bunch: Boomer, our now lone (but not lonely) beagle, is 9 years old. She continues to patrol the perimeter for cats and vermin when not napping. She is the poster dog for the Dalai Lama¿s wish ¿to come back in his next life as an American dog¿. Tanner, who is on the cusp of his 21st birthday, has had a far more productive year than Boomer. Spending the summer in Canton, OH playing baseball for the Stark County Terriers of the Great Lakes League was his dream summer. Having returned to Wabash in the fall to pursue his Philosophy degree, he is planning his dream summer 2010 studying independently in Greece. is five roommates in ¿The Manor¿. All of the guys play football, and all felt the thrill of returning the Monon Bell back to its rightful place at Wabash having drilled Depauw 32-19. (See card picture from that day) Kenny continues to pursue a career in medicine in spite of the current political climate amidst my consternation. Nancy has continued to explore her career options after living through our home renovations. She has been quite a trooper as we traveled 11 straight weekends from Chicago, IL to Mead, PA capturing the entire Wabash Little Giant football season. She is still the consummate mom living in a world of testosterone predominance. Curt (me) is now certain that retirement is just a fantasy and perhaps that is a blessing. Golf is just a passing thought while video editing remains a pursuit worth having for a man with an aching back. As I am constantly reminded, aging is tough, but it is substantially better than being dead. I am just thankful for a healthy family and great friends and family such as you. All of the Coggins would like to wish a happy and healthy 2010 to you and yours. Curt, Nancy, Kenny, Tanner and Boomer Coggins Go Little Giants! WAF!
