Curt's Story
Life
Currently I am employed as an Oracle Consultant based out of the Chicago office. Technically I live in that area, but becuase of my travels and the fact that my kids are still in Burlington area, I spend as much time there as I do the Chicago area as well as where ever Oracle happens to send me any particular week. (I think that might be a run on sentence? Hope none of my former English teachers read that!!!)
Anyways, most of my career has been as an accountant. Along the way I got involved with Oracle software at high tech companies in Quincy, Il and a suburb of Chicago. This has proven to be an oasis to to my accounting career, for about a year ago, I determined that if I had to go thru another "month-end close" I was going to have to slit my wrists...so I made the transition to Oracle consulting. well as many US locations. The downside the amount travel time I have amassed over the last few years. The likely lifespan of this career, for that reason, is only a year or two more at which point.....? But that is half the fun for me, not knowing. Worst case I go back to accounting or consulting on a more local basis.
On a personal basis I try to stay in pretty good shape thru working out, running, and volleyball. Due to my career choices volleyball has been put on the back burner for now, but hope to return to playing again sometime soon....at least I keep telling myself that.
As mentioned earlier I have two awesome kids...Tyson and ShayLeigh. They are at a fun age and have quite the busy life between sports and other activities. And they are so talented... must have got that from the ex? I guess I didn't play sports in high school, so don't know how good I could have been....oh well!
