Curtis Henry:

CLASS OF 1982
Baytown, TX

Curtis's Story

I left Baytown in 1983 to attend school in Tempe, Az. at A.S.U. Returned to Baytown in 1988 and worked as a pipe inspector and computer pipe draftsman in the Exxon refinery.... Was into much music at the time and also attened a school in Pheonix were I received a degree for building and repairing musical instruments. I opened a shop on the strand in Galveston in 1989 where we rebuilt old pianos. Opened a retail store in Galvez Mall in 1990 and sold the rebuilt vintage pianos that was reworked in our shop on the strand. I also that summer opened a b-b-que in the mall also. Met my to be wife in mall and married in 1992 to a local lady named Rebecca Adler. The mall of the mainland in Texas City opened thus closing down the Galvez mall so I worked out of my house repairring, tuning pianos and building cabinets and specialty items for the Galveston Historical foundation. After our two daughters were born we moved to the mountains of N.C. out of Asheville so I would be near the lumber mills and kiln drying palnts cutting out about six middle men on the shipment of the lumber.... I fell into a wonderful deal where i began making funeral products for a company in 43 states. This was where the money was/is so I stayed on this course. Had a son we named Caleb in 1997 giving him the middle name Austin bein...Expand for more
g he was then only non-Texan in our little family. Done well bought our house with renthouses and was playing much music in local events here in the mountains. My wife and I divorced in 2003....She is now in Texas and the children and I stayed here in N.C. till now. I miss Texas so much... My oldest daughter Katy is finishing her last year of high school this year and moving to Nashville ,Tenn. to attend nursing school... My daughter Sara is going this summer to New Orleans to attend early college and receive a degree in the arts and music... and Caleb and I will sell out and move to middle Texas and have a ranch... I apprecieate all the wonderful and supportive people of North Carolina and all the wonderful business oppertunities that I've never experienced anywhere else but I miss my roots...my Texas people and my state.... I want all who are reading this now to witness me thanking My God and Saviour Jesus Christ for all my blessing He has blessed me with in N.C. I thank Him for being with me in the valleys also that I had to walk thru out here(but never alone!) and for protecting my children as I always prayed for.... I am loney for all my friends and state of Texas... I want/need to come home now and refind myself again.... Curtis Henry from the class of 1982 Ross S. Sterling of Baytown, Texas
