Curtis's Story
Hey guys its been a long time since I have talked to any of you. I'll try to give you some history and update you on me and mine. When I graduated in 68 I took a job at a local lumber mill after spending a few months in Alaska. Soon after returning and going to work I got married to Karen May. We had 2 really wonderful boys Curtis and Dean. Unfortunately we married way to young and just weren't able to keep it together. I then kind of bounced around single for a few years and worked some jobs that included licensed pest control operator, bartender, janitor, mobile home salesman. I went to work for KUBA/KXEZ radio stations in Yuba City as a salesman for about 5 years took a break from that for about 8 months then went back to work as the sales manager. What a fun job that was. Got to put on a lot of dances at the fairgrounds and met a lot of country music stars while sponsoring concerts. I also got remarried during this time and had 2 really wonderful beautiful daughters named Cassandra and Lanae. The job ended at the radio stations and I and family moved to Santa Paula, Ca. where I worked in the oil fields operating a hot oil truck. oved back to Marysville. Knocked around Marysville for a while and got another divorce. Oh well no one is perfect. My folks owned a KOA park in Winnemucca Nv. and both became ill the same year so I went up to Winnemucca and ran the park for a couple of years. While working there I met my beautiful wife Debbie. Debbie has 3 great kids of her own so between the 2 of us and a stepson we have 8 kids. Boy at times that got to be real fun. When the folks came back I stayed in Winnemucca and went to work for a fellow called Uncle Buzz at 2 of his service business'. When Uncle Buzz sold his properties I went to work for The Colt Service Center in Battle Mtn. Nv.. A large truck stop, r.v. park, deli, and casino. I was the general manager for 9 years then Broadway /Flying J bought it. Within a year they offered me a job in Hardin Mt. With a really large pay increase. We moved to Hardin in 2000 and I worked there for 3 years and quit because of no help and to many hours. I went to work for Chevrolet selling new and used cars for 9 years I then left that position and went to work for True value Hardware where I am currently employed. My wonderful wife Debbie is a mail carrier here and has been since we moved here. We have been married for 26 years now. Yeah I know it took a while but I finally got a keeper.
