Cyndi's Story
On July 3rd of 2000, I had gastric bypass surgery. I weighed 328 pounds at the time. I thought it would be fast and easy. Dr. Spires did the surgery for me but he never told me the importance of vitamins. I became very sick, weak and malnurished. Dr. Spires kept telling me it was all in my head. I became so weak I couldnt stand or walk. Dr. Spires told me to get up and get over it, it was all in my head.I weighed right at 101 pounds. I slipped into a coma and was hospitalized. Dr. Spires told my parents I would never wake and that he was sending me to OSU medical center to be studied. My parents said no and he walked out. I couldnt move, walk, stand, anything. I had severe muscle weakness from the lack of vitamins. I had large white spots on my brain. Thanks to my parents, Dr. Sullivan, God, and therapy, Im pretty much better now. My teeth had been severly damaged by lack of vitamins. I had to have dentures. I take vitamins daily. I was in a wheelchair for 3 years, walker for 1, crutches 1, I now have a cane. Thanks to my wonderful parents pushing me to work hard. Im so grateful for them. I also have a wonder fiance and brothers, and my sis n laws.
