Cyndi's Story
Life
Hey Y'all (practicing my southern drawl, we just moved to Georgia 1 year ago)
I've been enjoying reading some of your bio's and thought I would contribute.
When I graduated from Apollo I went directly into the work force with a major Insurance company as a paper pusher. No, not my life goal but it paid the bills so I could move out on my own and sort out my goals and priorities. Gradually, over the next 10 years, I was able to acquire the training and skills to move into the area I had always aspired to, working with physically and mentally challenged children as a rehabilitation therapist and respite caregiver. I feel very blessed to be one of those people who loves their job and am a better person for being a part of the lives of these special individuals.
Prior to moving to Ga last year, due to my husbands job relocation, I had lived all my life in Arizona. I've been married to Nick since 1979 and we've had 3 children and a menagerie of various animals. My 17yo daughter,Sara, moved with us to Georgia; but Eric, my 24yo son, stayed back in Arizona.~ I sure do miss him~ He started his own family several years ago and has his own son, Alex, who just turned 2yo Oct2003. Yes, that makes me a grandma, and I own that bumpersticker that says "if I knew grandparenting was going to be so much fun, I would have done THIS first" ...Expand for more
teehee.
I am still adjusting to living here for many reasons, but I do love the home we found in northern Georgia and around Lake Lanier. It is quiet and quaint and far from the traffic and confusion of Atlanta. Lots of nature and critters around our land, plenty of room for all our pets and I have a blast feeding the wildlife and photographing the beauty I am finding here (now that it has finally stopped raining ~ sheesh).
March 2010
It has been a long time since I've updated this. Much has happened.
I am back living in Arizona ( since June2009) and am so happy to be back here. My son and daughter are doing well. My son is busy embracing their role reversal...His wife has the 9-5 job/career away from the house and Eric manages the household. It is such a feeling of pride I have watching the kind of parent he has become. Sara is loving her work as a Pet Nurse for a Vet Hospital. She has such a gifted way of working with animals. She remained in Ga when I moved back to AZ..She has her work, friends and a relationship there so it makes sense for her to stay, but in my heart I hope someday she will move back on this side of the country. I have another grandchild, that makes 2...Alex is now 8 and Emily is turning 4 in a few days.
Nick, my husband of 31 years, passed away recently and so my life has changed a great deal.
