Cynthia's Story
I think my friends will remember me as being pretty quiet and nice i guess. I love/hated high school so much because as a teenager, you already feel goofy! I hung around Detra Murphy and Gia Jernigan most of my HS career. Detra and I try to keep in touch at times. She is doing well and remains true to who she is. I admire her for that.
I left California in 1989 and got married to my "baby daddy" LOL. My husband and i started our family when we were mere babes ourselves!! He was in the military, stationed in Fort Ord at the time that we met. Our first son (Lance) was born in CA. We left and lived 2 years in Germany with the US Army. Our second son (Cedric) was born there in a German Krankenhaus no less. We then were stationed in Ft. Polk Louisiana where we had our daughter and final child (Vanessa). My husband got our of Active Duty and we moved to the small town in South Carolina where he was raised. Its kinda of neat for my kids to be attending the same High School that he attended!
The wildest thing i ever did in school was do a dance with Detra at the BSU King and Queen Corination. She and i dressed up in poodle skirts as we danced to Bill Haley and the Comets - we were part of a skit that showcased dances from the 50's up to the 80's. ...Expand for more
It was too much fun.
I always wanted to be a business woman when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a smart idea. As it turns out, they were right. I am the Director of Online Advertising Operations for a newsper company out of Augusta GA. Ive bee with the company for 13 years now and love every minute of it!! If I'm going to work anywhere, I need to have a computer, blackberry, and wireless headset to be able to deal with the day-to-day. I love people!!
I like to relax by going to the beach, laying on a blanket and looking up at the blue sky. I LOVE the beach. It is one of God's greatest creations
My hero would be my husband and my father. My husband served two tours in Iraq and came back to "not" talk about it. My father gave me the perfect role model of what a real man should be. His spirit is echoed in my husband as as little girl, you always grow up to look for a man who mirrors your daddy! If you had a good relationship with your father, you stand a chance to find a good man that reminds you of him. My kids are lucky to have him as their daddy.
My current age is 42. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be traveling in flying cars. I was so completely right because the price of gas is sky high (yuk yuk yuk).
