Cynthia's Story
Currently I live with my youngest son, Travis, in Visalia, California. I teach special education at El Diamante High School and various classes as adjunct faculty for Fresno Pacific University. I love what I do and believe there is nothing better than watching my students as they mature, grow, and become productive members in our community. I have taught at El D since it opened in 2001, the same year I finished my level I in special education. I currently hold a Multiple Subject credential, single subject credential in English, a level II in special education certification, and a Masters in Education. ght of my life. In 2009 I was rediagnosed with metastatic stage IV breast cancer and am now an imcomplete parapalegic and today learned I am in remission. My Oncologist won't admit it but I am God's rolling miracle. Rolling, because I can't walk :). I moved, with my boys to the Central Valley of California in 1991 and have never looked back. From my kitchen window and front yard I have the most majestic view of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. There is nothing more beautiful than the craggy peaks covered in snow. My mom, Lois, passed in 2006 - you may remember her as the pie and hot dog lady. She was 86 when we lost her and she never lost her love of kids.
