Cynthia's Story
I'm retired from the County of Sacramento and have lived here in Grass Valley since '93.My only child, Karen lives up here too, with her husband Derek. I have 7 grandchildren (4 are steps) all grown and mostly scattered over 3 states.
I guess, technically, I am married, but we've been separated since 1999 and I haven't a clue to his whereabouts.
I love living up here. I'm living with my daughter right now but expect to be back in my own place by spring. I don't mind living alone at all and keep occupied gardening,reading,knitting and keeping up with friends and family. I do share space with a middle aged chihuahua named Opie, a very entertaining guy.
My closest friend is a woman I met while a sophomore at Highlands named Vick...Expand for more
i Keller. If anyone remembers her you might know her as Vicki Johnson. She lives in Portland, Oregon. One of my granddaughters is an Executive Chef in Portland and I have a sister, Yvonne, in Longview, WA, about 45 minutes from Portland, so I have lots of excuses to travel in that direction.
In my senior year at Foothill, I caught the acting bug and played parts in both plays put on that year. I did one other play in Children's Theater downtown but nothing more. I often think about how much fun acting was and would like to do it again. There are plenty of opportunities to do that up here, so maybe someday...
So, I live live happily from day to day in one of the most beautiful places in California. That's all folks!
