Cynthia's Story

Married to the love of my life for over 40 years now. It a loving, sharing, caring romance every day. Proud parents of 2 wonderful young men who also married Centennial Graduates almost 20 years later, even though they went to school in Redmond, OR. funny how our lives sometime wrap around us and end up back at a beginning. It seems you always meet someone new who can connect with you somehow, area you live, work place, school, hometown. I was working at Hyster Company in Portland just before graduation and I met Jack there about a year later and we have been together ever since. Married in July 68, had our first son Jack Jr Nov of 69 than had Mark, May of 71. We lived in Boring area until 76 when we moved to Redmond, OR to run a distributership for Wonder Bread Hostess Cake, I did the books and sometimes special orders, we sold in 82 and went to Alaska, stayed about 9weeks decided not for us and returned to Portland in Jack worked for Franz and I worked for Powell Vista Manor as bookkeeper until 84 when we transfered back to Redmond. Boys were able to go back to school with old friends and had a wonderful childhood there. I started to work for Chevy Dealer, Dave Hamilton as cashier worked my way up to Warranty Clerk, Title and Contract Clerk. Jack was transfered again in 89 to Roseburg, Or., Our oldest had graduated and joined Coast Guard for 4 years and was stationed on Willamette/Columbia Portland. Mark was a Sr and optioned to stay with us and go to Roseburg High School (now little fish in big Pond.) I was able to get a job with Clint Newell Motors as...Expand for more
the warranty clerk and now almost 20 years later I'm the team leader for Title and Contract Office. Jack and I purchased an old farm home with 2 acres about 3 months ago and we are now starting to get things moving to update the old place.$$$$$. Of course the economy has taken a dump, good because I can find lots of Contractors looking for work, bad because not sure how long $$ will hold out. Currently I'm recovering from Total Knee Replacement, last week, not as bad as the Dr. said. Will be back to work in 8 weeks I think (hope I still have a job!) We like to work in yard/garden,go camping/fishing, adventure movies (what else after rasing boys mine and neighborhood), read historical romance, travel although we have not done much, I like the history behind the locations, We did got to Custer's Last stand in Wyoming and enjoyed it very much. We have six grand children from 17 to 5years. They all live in Washington State with Dad and Mom. So we now have 3 dogs to keep us company and drive us nuts. I think retirement is around the corner for me and Jack wants to work until he is 70. Her retired from Bread Sales and now works at WINCO as forklift operater in warehouse in Riddle, 25 miles south of here. Great Company to work for and he can work circles around the young people they have there. He still has a great body and looks like he did when we got married only better. Me, I sit to much in my job add a few lbs every year, you do the math. This should be fun to see our different stories I hope everyone has had a happy life. I know I have been blessed.
