Cynthia's Story
Well, I've lived in a large city for a long, long time, but I want everyone to know that I'm still 'a small town girl' at heart.
After high school, I attended North Texas Univ. in Denton, TX. I roomed with Jane Gardner (class of '69). Tell her 'hello' for me if you see her! I haven't seen her since! I married my high school sweetheart, Bobby George. We have to children, Greg, age 31, and Angie, age 28. Greg lives near his dad in The Woodlands, TX, and Angela and her husband, Matt, and my first grandchild, Greyson, will be moving close to me in McKinney, later this month of July '08.
Bobby and I divorced in 1987. We were living in El Paso when we separated. I moved to Longview with our two children. Later I moved to Plano, TX, where I've been since 1989.
I remained single for many years while raising Greg and Angie. As soon as they were both graduated from high school, I remarried in 1998.
My husband, Bob Hackler, and I met on a dance floor. We enjoyed country/western dancing for years.

hose years I was director there. I now work at Southwest Airlines in Dallas. I'm a Corporate Receptionist. (I answer the phone many, many times a day!!)
Now, I wish I could just retire and stay out in the yard and be with family and friends.
I grew up living on Monroe Street and bought our childhood home from my three sisters. My husband an I rent it out and hope to retire there. I love to come to Kilgore and walk through my old house. I can almost hear all the voices and footsteps. In fact, one weekend when we went to work on the house before new renters moved in, I was lying on an air mattress and could 'hear' a square dance song being sung by my daddy. Then, one morning while there, I woke up hearing my mama walking down the hall with her familiar walk to the kitchen. I really miss them alot, still.
It was great seeing everyone at our 40th reunion. Thanks to all of you who pulled that off in such a timely manner! I appreciated that so much.
